My wife and I applied for NEXUS cards at the same time. I have been invited for interview but my wife’s application is still under review. Why have we not been processed together?

Each NEXUS application is checked individually with both law enforcement and immigration agencies in the USA and Canada. Some checks are processed faster than others depending on both the agencies? workload and the individual applicant’s status.
