My son is in Spain. His passport is not expired but the pages with all the travel stamps has been made unreadable by water damage. He is planning to go to India, so feels he surely needs a new passport for least confusion. Also he asked me, in renewing his passport, does he need a new guarantor? Thanks Look forward to hearing from you.

Your son is correct in applying for a new Canadian Passport if it is unreadable.

If you son is over 16 years he will need to complete the Adult Passport Application (Abroad) PPTC 040. The application needs to be submitted at the nearest Canadian government office where your son in located in Spain (Barcelona, Malaga or Madrid).
