I’m a Filipina arrive on sept 9 2016 i have a common law partner becoz of his behavior i want to leave him and he told me i cant get out of him until 2 yrs becoz if i do that canadian embassy will throw me out to the philippines and cancel my permanent resident card it is true

Yes, at the moment your partner is right: if you leave before September 2018, you will lose your permanent resident status in Canada. However, the Canadian government is currently discussing changing that rule as early as spring 2017. So, if you can survive until the rule changes, you could maintain your status in Canada despite leaving your partner once that rule is passed. You should think about your safety first, and your status in Canada second.
