I have lived in my family home since birth but due to extended work trips i frequently have to rent apartments in different Canadian cities for many months, at one time even 2 years. What address do i put as my ‘home’ address when i am frequently between apartments? Also, in the section listing places i have lived in the last 2 years, is it ok to put overlapping dates? (i.e. – i have had 1 house, and 2 apartments at the same time)

Your place of residence is not particularly important to your passport application. You can change addresses during the validity of your passport without changing your address on your passport.

You should put the address where you will receive the passport as your residence, if that is your family home then that is fine.

If you rent these apartments temporarily but live at your home, then use your home as your address in the past too.
