For passport renewal, how is back of photo signed? Name printed and then signature?

For Canadian Passport renewal one photo must be signed by a guarantor as a true likeness of you, unless the passport application is being made through the Simplified Renewal Application Process. If that is the case, no guarantor is necessary. A notary seal must not be imprinted on the photos.
