if my birth certificate is laminated is it still ok to send with my passport application

Whether or not you can use a laminated birth certificate to apply for a passport depends upon where you were born and when. If you laminated the birth certificate, then you cannot use it as proof of your citizenship and you will need to replace it before you apply for your passport.

If it was laminated by the government – for example, you were born in the early ’80s in Ontario – then it can be submitted to Passport Canada as proof of citizenship.
